Field Study #1!!!
Field Notes:
Date + Time: 9/8, 7:45
Climate: light wind, no rain or snow, clear sky
Temp. 61 degrees
Sunrise: 7:16
Sunset: 8:05
Other observations: tons of bugs (me and my mom got eaten alive), lots of animal noises, busy highway nearby.
Other Thoughts:
Over the summer this area experienced a moderate drought. Maybe due to this there was a dry riverbed that was completely dry where there normally would have been water. I wonder what the effects of a dried up river and the lack of water will be on the ecosystem there.
My first visit here made me think of stewardship. In this very natural area there was paths, building, telephone poles, and homes all through the area. In a way it felt like the nature was being interrupted by all of the man-made features and it made me
think about how we can enjoy nature without damaging it

Looks like you have one picture not showing up. Stop in to see me a minute and we'll figure out what is making this happen.
ReplyDeleteGreat start with your field notes...think a bit about a little more description for the organisms you're seeing...where are they? what animal noises? what are they doing? etc. The rest is great!
Great video
